What we build in Clearwater
Turf and pavers for Clearwater yards
In April 2025, the City of Clearwater adopted Ordinance 9805-25, which set rules for where turf can go, the pile height of residential turf and when a permit is needed. Front-yard turf also comes with a requirement to keep part of the front yard as living plants. We build those rules into the layout and the proposal so you know what to expect before you sign.

Do I need a permit for turf in Clearwater?
In most cases, yes. The City of Clearwater requires a building permit with a $200 application fee. A single area of 100 square feet or less in a side or rear yard is the exception.
What turf can I use in Clearwater?
Residential turf has to be at least 1.5 inches tall. The city can approve shorter putting greens and pet turf in side or rear yards case by case. Your proposal names each product and its pile height.
