What your proposal spells out
A paver job is only as good as what is under it. Your proposal lists each of these by name so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Top to bottom
- Pavers or stone
- Bedding layer
- Compacted base
- Prepared subgrade
- Removal
- What comes out first: old concrete, pavers, sod or soil, and how it is hauled away.
- Base
- Base material, depth and compaction for the area and its use. A driveway gets built differently from a walkway.
- Paver
- The exact product, size, color and laying pattern.
- Edges
- Edge restraint so pavers stay locked in place, and how the edge meets turf, beds or the pool.
- Joints and sealing
- Joint sand, and sealing if it is part of your project.
Materials
Four materials, one finished look
Travertine
Natural stone with a warm, classic look, long a Florida favorite around pools.
Porcelain
Uniform pieces in a wide range of colors and finishes, including stone and wood looks.
Natural stone
Each piece a little different, for walkways, patios and accents.
Concrete pavers
Many shapes, colors and cobblestone styles, and a strong choice for driveways.
Included
On every job
- Removal and haul-away of the existing surface, as listed
- Base preparation and compaction
- Clean transitions to turf, beds and pool coping
- Final walkthrough
- Product and workmanship warranties in writing
How pavers are priced
Paver prices vary more than turf, mostly with the material you choose and what has to come out first. After we measure, your proposal prices each area on its own line, so you can compare materials side by side.
What moves the price
- Paver material and size
- Laying pattern
- Removing the existing surface
- Base work for the area and its use
- Steps, borders and cuts around the pool

“Excellent job installing our pavers. They were professional, on time, and the work looks fantastic. Great attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.”
Travertine or porcelain?
Both work well in Tampa Bay. Travertine is natural stone with a classic look around pools. Porcelain is more uniform and comes in many colors and finishes. We bring samples and talk through how each one fits your yard.
Can pavers go over my existing concrete?
Sometimes. It depends on the condition of the slab and on the height at doors, drains and the pool. We check on the visit and tell you which approach makes sense.
Do you seal pavers?
Sealing can be included with a new installation. Ask us about your existing pavers as well, and we will tell you what they need.
Can you combine pavers and turf?
Yes, and that is a lot of what we do: stepping stones set into turf, turf strips between pavers, and pool decks that run straight into a turf lawn.
